SLEEP IS FOR THE WEAK OR SLEEP FOR A WEEK

Remember when we were kids and we hated taking a nap or sleeping? And now that we’re college students, we’d do anything to get even an hour nap? I don’t’ know about you guys but I really do try my best to get a full 8 hours of sleep. Yeah I know some have jobs and then we got to do our homework. But honestly, I feel like if you manage your time well you can eliminate the homework stress and have a good night’s rest. I swear nothing feels better than coming home from work and knowing you’ve done your homework already and you can just sleep. Sleep is something we all do virtually every day of our lives and what we’ve really known for certain is that we need it. Why do we need it? Because getting the right amount of sleep reduces accidents, will make your work shift less tiring, and our brain functions better.

You can take steps to improve your sleep habits. First, make sure that you allow yourself enough time to sleep. With enough sleep each night, you may find that you're happier and more productive during the day. Sleep often is the first thing that busy people squeeze out of their schedules. Making time to sleep will help you protect your health and well being now and in the future.

MEDIA DIARY

Mass media means technology that is intended to reach a mass audience. It is the primary means of communication used to reach the vast majority of the general public. The most common platforms for mass media are newspapers, magazines, radio, television, and the Internet. The general public typically relies on the mass media to provide information regarding political issues, social issues, entertainment, and news in pop culture. My media diary only consisted of the mediums of a phone, tablet, iPad, textbook, and my laptop. Other than the tablet and iPad because someone else provides that, I would say my phone is the most used. My textbook’s main use was just for my reviewing chapters for my class. I used media throughout the entire day. From the moment I wake up, to the moment I sleep; I’m using some type of mass media.

What I've learnt from this is that assignment is that social media is really growing exponentially. I believe that, in terms of journalism and communications, more and more online newspapers will be turning to social networking machines like Facebook to help encourage people to actually read the news instead of mindlessly updating their status'. I have yet to decide on whether or not I think this social media take-over is a good thing or a bad thing. Looking back, this assignment has really helped me think about how I feel about social media and the way in which I use the media accessible to me. It's become quite clear to me that the majority of my time revolves around having Internet - it's very, very hard for me to think about what I'd be doing without it. It's also evident that when it comes to social media, I’m barely on it.

MYTHS, CULTURES, AND LEGENDS

Creation myths tell us how things began. All cultures have creation myths; they are our primary myths, the first stage in what might be called the psychic life of the species. We should consider thinking hard about what creation myths do and how they work. They are not just quaint remnants of a pre-scientific past. They are not just stories to be studied as folklore. The universality of such myths is telling us something important about what it means to be human. Almost every culture has its own account of creation, and each one tells a unique story. Some methods of creation appear again and again in cosmogonies from different parts of the world. One of the most common images is a description of the beginning of the world as a birth, a kind of creation familiar to everyone

Fruit appears in myths from around the world. Often it is a symbol of abundance, associated with goddesses of fruitfulness, plenty, and the harvest. Sometimes, however, fruit represents earthly pleasures, gluttony, and temptation. Specific kinds of fruit have acquired their own symbolic meanings in the myths and legends of different cultures. mythsThe hero's journey is the common template of a broad category of tales that involve a hero who goes on an adventure, and in a decisive crisis wins a victory, and then comes homes changed or transformed.
